So you are getting married in France, and you are looking for a photographer…
I am a French wedding photographer in the Lyon area in France.
I can of course move around and go anywhere I’d be needed (Polynesia anyone?)
First thing first, I have lived 12 years in London. I speak fluent English.
It’s not perfect, please excuse my French, but I can usually communicate and make a joke or two (sometimes unintentionally, I admit…)
I work a lot with international couples, either french expatriates coming back home to get married, or mixed-origin couples with non french-speaking families or foreign couples looking for bit of exotic thrill for their celebration.
Being able to speak proper English is a precious asset because photography, especially portraits is mostly about communication.
Most people are nervous about having their pictures taken.
The best way to get natural, authentic pictures is to be able to relax the people you are shooting (!)
You need to have empathy, you need to put people at ease, you need to be friendly and easy going while being non obstructive…
I have a photojournalistic approach of my work.
Your wedding is going to be a whirlwind of emotions, laughters, tears, unexpected and unplanned events.
I don’t have a work template or a predefined idea of the way I am going to shoot a wedding.
I work with a free, open mind, to capture the events as they happen.
Photographing all this is the best way to forge great, happy memories of this fantastic day, even if there is a gale storm or if you break a high-heel…
I aim for real emotions, real stories, real instants, I don’t direct people or scenarize things..
That doesn’t mean that I won’t help you. The last thing I want is people staring blankly at my camera, wondering what they should do next!
Shooting a couple is mostly about creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Brides and grooms usually have ‘a bit’ of complicity, and that is what I base my photography on.
You will look at each other, realise what you are doing today (you’re getting married!) and how gorgeous you look, you will smile to each other and see happiness in each other’s eyes, and that‘s all I need to make a beautiful picture of the two of you.
That’s as simple as that…
And I love natural light.

Whether you think that you are photogenic or not, whether you can or cannot pose, your wedding will be a very special day.
And you will be happy.
That’s all that is needed to take beautiful pictures…
I photograph people in a gentle, friendly way, without stress or strong guidance.
Happiness cannot be forced, only witnessed!

UNIQUE
I don’t always take the same pictures.
I don’t like to be bored at work!
I am really careful not to have a routine and to always renew my approach of different situations.
Of course, you will exchange rings, you will have a ceremony, you will maybe throw your bouquet to the bridemaids, that happens in every single wedding…
But that does not need to be photographed in the same way wedding after wedding!
